Wayne Looney
I read the comments of Manchester United's star player - Wayne Rooney - after his two match ban was upheld by the football authorities - for deliberately swearing into a live TV camera.
Rooney responded along the lines of - 'he wasn't the first football player to swear on a football pitch - and wouldn't be the last'.
True - but beside the point.
Because he wasn't charged with simply swearing on the pitch - which players do all the time - he was charged with using foul language into a live TV camera.
Rooney has now lost a lucrative sponsorship deal in the wake of the incident - alleged to be worth £600,000 a year.
What the young man could do with - is a good dose of the Sir Alex Ferguson 'hairdryer' treatment.
Because compared to someone like David Beckham - who is a positive role model for young football fans in every way - Rooney comes across as immature, spoiled and foul-mouthed.
And a club with a giant reputation like Manchester United - has no need for that - can you imagine Lionel Messi from Barcelona FC behaving in such a ridicluous fashion?
