Union Advice to Members

More and more union members are getting in touch - about the difficulty they have in getting to see advice issued by their union's legal advisers - often an external solicitor.

Well I've written about this before - and the difficulty is that trade unions are often fond of quoting legal advice - but can be strangely reluctant to share the details with ordinary members.

Now this may seem extraordinary.

You would think that an ordinary union member has an absolute right to see the black and white detail of any legal advice - which affects their interests.

Yet that doesn't always happen - so if you are being given the run around - then the only thing to do is to make a big fuss.

By complaining all the way to the top - because members should be entitled to see any legal advice that their own union is relying upon - in any given situation.

If not, then there's something badly wrong - so don't take 'No' for an answer.
