Women's prisons should be single sex spaces primarily for the safety and privacy of women prisoners. But there are other good reasons too as this news story from America demonstrates rather well.

Nicola Sturgeon and her justice minister are tying themselves in over this business of men in women's prisons. One minute they say it's perfectly fine to exclude men - the next they insist men are to be treated, in every respect, as women.   What Has Four (4) Eyes And Can't See? ( January 25, 2023 )   No, it's not Mississippi - it's Scotland's First Minister (Nicola Sturgeon) and Justice Minister (Keith Brown) who can't see that male rapists are men who belong in a male prison.   What's Got Four(4) Eyes And Can't See? ( January 24, 2023 ) Is the correct answer: a) Two SNP politicians protesting their support for self-ID? b) The state of Mississippi? I'll plump for a) - although Mississippi Burning is one of my favourite movies (see video link below).

Dave Chappelle poses an important question about Self-ID and the policy of men declaring themselves to be women: To what extent, if any, are we required to participate in the self-image or self-identity of another person? If you ask me, it's like being required to accept and follow someone else's religious beliefs.

People can identify with and believe in lots of things, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to accept their beliefs, views, politics or lifestyle choices.
