Mission Creep
Is it just me - or did anyone else find the front page strapline in yesterday's Sunday Herald - rude and childish.
The newspaper had a full page picture of Foreign Secretary with the following heading;
"Mission creep"
"As war rages in Libya and a top Gaddafi official defects to the UK - guess who found the time to star at a controversial fundraiser for the Tories in Scotland."
To my mind, the paper's sub-editor was inviting readers to agree that William Hague is himself a creep - with the kind of double entendre that would have made even Frankie Howerd flush with embarassment.
Now I don't have any fondness for William Hague - but I do think that a major Scottish newspaper should be observing certain standards.
Not turning itself into a print version of Up Pompeii.
