Sectarian Songs
The newspapers reported at the weekend that Strathclyde Police are about to get tough - with Celtic and Rangers fans who sing vile sectarian songs at football matches.
Good for them.
While it's clearly not an easy task to identify and take action against the bigots who behave in this way - it's good to see the police and clubs taking action.
Instead of standing on the sidelines wringing their hands
I read recently that a Celtic fan was fined £300 and banned for two years for singing a song which contained the words: "Walter Smith is a sad, Orange b*****d!".
Good - and if he's stupid enough to behave that way again - he should be fined £1,000 and banned for life.
I don't know Walter Smith and I'm not a Rangers FC supporter.
But what I would say is that he seems like a thoroughly decent man to me - and that no one should have to put up with that kind of foul abuse.
