Sectarian Singing
Walter Smith - the widely respected manager of Rangers FC - waded into the row about the sectarian songs that some fans sing at Rangers football games.
'Leave it out', said Walter - or words to that effect - 'there's no place for that kind of behaviour in this day and age'.
Good for him.
The more that Rangers FC confront the bigots in their ranks - the more the decent fans will rally round - and drive them away from the game.
The club's initial instinct was to say they were being singled out for special treatment - and that somehow Rangers were being treated unfairly or harshly.
But that's nonsense.
Because sectarian and bigoted behaviour is a criminal offence - and if Rangers fans or any other football fans behaved that way in the street - they would be quickly arrested.
So well done Walter Smith - let's hope other big figures at the club, past and present, follow his lead.
