Narcissist and Weirdo

A funny thing's happened to Julian Assange - founder of Wikileaks - a man renowned for putting private information in the public domain.

His autobiography has been published by Canongate - the Edinburgh based firm - but against Julian's wishes and he's not a happy chappy.

Apparently Julian never never wanted to write his own autobiography - so a ghost writer did it for him and Canongate paid a substantial advance - for the publishing rights.

Then Julian got cold feet and tried to suppress the book.

But without returning the advance fee paid by Canongate - allegedly a substantial six-figure sum in the region of £400,000.

In effect Julian was trying to renege on his contract with the publisher - so in an effort to cut their losses Canongate have published the book without Assange's permission.

Which seems fair enough in the circumstances - though not to Julian - who wants to keep this 'private' information out of the public domain.

I don't think I'll be buying a copy - Assange comes across as a classic narcissist to me - as well as being a complete weirdo.

And I imagine Julian can't even begin to see the funny side - of being hoist on his own petard.
