You Heard It Here First!
Now I'm not normally a betting man, but I am prepared to stake a a bob or two on who will become - the next leader of the Labour party in Scotland.
I apologise in advance, in case my support proves to be the 'kiss of death'.
But the hot favourite has to be Ken Macintosh - Labour MSP for Eastwood, roughly speaking the area covered by East Renfrewshire Council.
Why?
Because Ken speaks and sounds like a normal human being - not a political 'speak your weight' machine - churning out endless and boring party propaganda.
Ken comes across like a relatively normal human being - whom you might agree to chat to over a cup of coffee - and who might even listen to your point of view, as opposed to just repeating the party line.
Now he's a bit of a posh boy, it has to be said, but then again Ken represents Eastwood - where a rough Glasgow accent might not go down so well.
And being a bit posh didn't hold Iain Gray back - the current Scottish Labour leader - who went to a private school in Edinburgh - George Watsons, if I remember correctly.
Oh no - going to a fee paying school never held Iain Gray back - and didn't cost him support from MPs like Gordon Brown and his trade union allies.
So get your money on Ken Macintosh now - before the odds shorten.
You know it makes sense.
