MSPs and Equal Pay

I've received a response from one of the five South Lanarkshire MSPs - in response to my recent e-mail on Freedom of Information.

See post dated 9 May 2011 - 'MSPs and Equal Pay'.

The first person to respond is James Kelly - MSP for Rutherglen - who says that he can only take the matter up on behalf of local constituents - who live in the Rutherglen area.

Which is fair enough - though I seem to recall MSPs in the past having views on all kinds of thing unconnected with local post codes - including the war in Iraq.

But why get picky when someone is offering to help - assuming it's a real offer of help, of course ?

So any readers in the Rutherglen area - who have something to say to James Kelly MSP - about:

South Lanarkshire Council
Freedom of Information
Equal Pay

Can contact him at the following e-mail address:

James.Kelly.msp@scottish.parliament.uk

Here's what I said to the MSP in my response - which is addressed to Martin you will note - because Martin works in the James Kelly's constituency office.

"Dear Martin

Freedom of Information - South Lanarkshire Council

I am not a resident of Rutherglen, sadly - but I will let readers of the Action 4 Equality Scotland blog site know that James Kelly is prepared to take the matter up - on behalf of local constituents.

Let's hope the local council listens to the views of one of its local Labour MSPs.

Kind regards.

Mark"
