Happy Days
Lots of people in Scotland have a smile on their face this morning - including a long standing male client from Edinburgh - who has finally had his equal pay claim settled.
As regular readers know, Edinburgh City Council has taken a long time - longer than most - to settle claims from male workers - even though these claims were just as valid as all the rest.
So I asked the claimant from Edinburgh - who was one of the first people to sign up with Action 4 Equality Scotland - whether it was worth the wait in the end.
Here's what he had to say:
"Yep it sure was............well worth the wait!!!
Happy Days
HR"
Now that's really great to hear - I must arrange to meet up and buy him a celebratory drink or two - because things have come a long way since our original meeting in Edinburgh back in 2005.
Remember that these male claimants were told by their trade unions - not to waste their time pursuing an equal pay claim - this was only affected women workers, they were told.
So it's just as well that lots of union members ignored this awful advice - and listened to Action 4 Equality Scotland instead.
