Press We Deserve
A sure sign that news is scarce and that the silly season is well underway - is the sudden appearence of threadbare 'news' articles about the Prime Minister's holidays.
One such was a tale about David Cameron's holiday in Tuscany with his wife and family - where he seems to have been followed by lots of photographers and journalisits - with nothing better to do with their time.
So they whip up a non-story about the PM failing to leave a tip for his morning coffees - which is hardly surprising since he had to go and fetch the cups himself.
We get the press we deserve - right enough.
Next it will be front page news that David Cameron crosses the road - without following the Green Cross Code.
I'm surprised the papers don't fill up their columns with revelations - about what Harold Wilson and Margaret Thatcher got up to during their holidays.
Mind you Mrs Thatcher never took proper holidays - so that would have put their gas at a peep.
