Jobs R Us

The BBC gets both barrels from the Private Eye - over the ridiculous number of non-jobs in the corporation - which also happen to be paid ridiculous salaries - out of the public purse of course.

Here's a spoof advert from the latest edition of the magazine.

BBC

Director of Retrenchment Policy (£390,000 + bonus)

The BBC are looking for a dynamic Director of Retrenchment who will be responsible for recruting a 2,000 strong division of middle managers to deliver cuts of up to 2,000 staff across the corporation.

Reporting directly to the Director of Downsizing Staff (£290,000 + teddy bear) and the Downsizing Director of Retrenchment policy (£320,000 + battery operated dalek) you would be tasked with identifying areas of the BBC which are overmanned and reducing the headcount dramatically in those divisions.

The ideal sensibly-haired candidate would have a strong shoulder-paddded track record in implementing a strategy for corporate downsizing within a braodcasting environment that recognises the skills and talents of programme makers and then sacks them anyway.
