Not So Special One

Arsene Wenger - the Arsenal manager - has been fined 10,000 Euros and given a two match ban - for passing messages to his assistant - Pat Rice - during a recent Champions League match.

Arsene Wenger had been banished to the stand for this match - because of a previous transgression.

Part of his 'punishment' was to sit out this particlar game - which included a ban on any communication with the dugout - to prevent the manager from influencing things  on the field of play.

So goodness knows what will happen to 'Mad Dog' Mourinho - over his antics in the recent Spanish Super Cup final - where Barcelona deservedly beat Real Madrid 3 - 2.

Towards the end of the game - which became increasingly bad tempered - Jose Mourinho assaulted one of the Barcelona coaches - but has not expressed one word of remorse for his behaviour since.

The football authorities in Spain need to get a grip of this nonsense - see posts dated 18 and 19 August 2011 - Beauty and the Beast and 'Mad Dog' Mourinho.

Because the beautiful game is much bigger and more important than any single player or manager.

No matter how good Mourinho thinks he is - he's not that special really.
