I enjoyed this cartoon from Private Eye, the UK's best and only fortnightly satirical magazine, which reminded me of other major inquiries much closer to home.

For example, the Holyrood inquiry into allegations against Alex Salmond and the more recent public inquiry into Scottish ministers' handling of the Covid pandemic.

SNP - 'Mr&Mrs' Politburo

Jim Sillars is spot on about the dreadful personality cult which allowed Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon to run the SNP as a 'Mr & Mrs' tag team for years. What's astonishing is that SNP members - party activists, councillors, MSPs and MPs - turned a blind eye to things for so long  which helps explain why the SNP is in such a terrible mess today.
