Party On, Dudes!

Instead of wringing their hands about the state of the city centre when football fans celebrate victory, Glasgow's civic leaders ought to be discussing with Celtic and Rangers the establishment of 'fan zones' where supporters can safely gather on these occasions. 

Glasgow Green and Bellahouston Park spring to mind, for example, but whatever the solution it requires practical leadership from Glasgow's politicians.

Hardly the image Glasgow wants to portray to the world - with scenes of widespread public drunkenness, disorder and disruption on our city's streets. 

Yet Glasgow's politicians hide behind the comments of an anonymous Council spokesperson - the city's councillors, MSPs and MPs are all too scared to say 'boo to a goose'!

SNP - 'Mr&Mrs' Politburo

Jim Sillars is spot on about the dreadful personality cult which allowed Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon to run the SNP as a 'Mr & Mrs' tag team for years. What's astonishing is that SNP members - party activists, councillors, MSPs and MPs - turned a blind eye to things for so long  which helps explain why the SNP is in such a terrible mess today.
