So a UK general election has been called for July 4th which is a good thing if you ask me.

I doubt calling a snap election will do Rishi Sunak much good, but at least he has done the right thing by not dragging things out until the last possible minute. 

My own feeling in that the Conservatives have run their course and that it's time for change, much like the situation with the SNP Scotland - where the SNP have now changed leader twice without asking voters to have their say.

SNP - 'Mr&Mrs' Politburo

Jim Sillars is spot on about the dreadful personality cult which allowed Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon to run the SNP as a 'Mr & Mrs' tag team for years. What's astonishing is that SNP members - party activists, councillors, MSPs and MPs - turned a blind eye to things for so long  which helps explain why the SNP is in such a terrible mess today.
