'Honest John', Leaders and Bananas

Scotland's MSPs kicked Michael Matheson out of Holyrood by 64 votes to 0 - but the parliament's 63 SNP members sat on their hands and refused to vote. 

Astonishingly SNP leader John Swinney failed to suggest any other punishment short of the 27 day suspension and 54 day loss of salary recommended by the Scottish Parliament's standards committee.

If Swinney's a leader, then I'm a banana!

Jim Sillars is spot on about the dreadful personality cult which allowed Peter Murrell and Nicola Sturgeon to run the SNP as a 'Mr & Mrs' tag team for years. What's astonishing is that SNP members - party activists, councillors, MSPs and MPs - turned a blind eye to things for so long  which helps explain why the SNP is in such a terrible mess today.
