Glasgow - Budget Cuts and Tax Rises

Glasgow City Council is due to set its 2022 budget today courtesy of the same SNP/Green alliance propping up the Scottish Government.

The city's budget is being cut by £20 million in real terms following the same trend of recent years, but a 3% increase in council tax will raise £6.9 for local services.

In broad terms the settlement means higher charges for fewer local services, but the council has pledged to change the way in which some services are delivered.

No mention of how the council intends to meet its obligations over equal pay, but read the full story in the link above to Glasgow Live.
