Lockdown Isn't Working
If my walk through Glasgow Green yesterday afternoon is anything to go by, the rules about lockdown are being widely ignored.
Because the park was 'choc a bloc' with non-family groups, people enjoying a drink in the sun and cyclists barreling past pedestrians at high speed without making any effort to stay 6 feet (2 metres) apart.
Not a sign of the police anywhere, so what's the point of these rules when so many people just blithely ignore them?
Some relaxation of the rules appears to be the cards according to the Scottish Government and if the reports are true, we Scots will soon be able to play more golf and go fishing.
But for me the public health message should focus on the need for social distancing and wearing of face masks - rather than trying persuade people to 'stay at home'.
