More Powers

Brian Adcock cartoon

I enjoyed the cartoon from Scotland on Sunday which illustrated a piece about Labour's offer of a 'new contract' with Scotland in the event of a No vote in the independence referendum on 18 September 2014.

Now I don't believe this for a minute, I have to say, because Labour's new found enthusiasm for a 'beefed up' Scottish Parliament has only emerged since the referendum became a reality after agreement between the Scottish (SNP) Government and a Westminster Coalition Government comprising the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats.

If Labour really believed in more powers for the Scottish Parliament, then why didn't they insist on having a second question on the ballot paper - which was the preferred option for most voters including me?

The people have been denied their say on Devo Max and all the bright young things in the Labour Party should be ashamed of themselves for allowing that to happen.
