Blackwash!
FIFA Vice President - Jack Warner - who has been under investigation over bribery and corruption allegations - has resigned his post with immediate effect.
According to FIFA sources this means that the allegations made against him - by the chief executive of CONCACAF (the Central and North American and Carribean football association) - will now be dropped.
See post dated 1 June 2011: 'Captain Bligh versus Chuck Blazer'.
And since no further action will be taken by FIFA - Warner is presumed to be innocent of all charges - the inquiry by FIFA's Ethics Committee having been stood down.
Now I've seen some stitch-ups in my time - but this takes the biscuit.
FIFA President - Sepp Blatter - has turned his organisation into the laughing stock of world football.
If the big sponsors - Sony, Adidas and Coca Cola - have any sense, they'll pull the plug on Blatter and his cronies - in double quick time.
