How Do We Fix The Glasgow Midden?
334 Maryhill Rd. Builder's rubble and part of a crashed car. Reported 5 times since March 2022. Each time you ask if it's the public footpath. I say yes. You say you'll put a request in to have it removed. Nothing happens. So again... can this be removed pleased? @MyGlasgowCC pic.twitter.com/iKO7C5EHRM

Maybe we can shame Glasgow City Council into action - if enough Glaswegians publicise and share photos showing the filthy state of our streets and public spaces?

Glasgow's 'midden problem' needs an ambitious plan - part of which needs to include more bins, bigger bins and/or more frequently emptied bins.

The council itself has also tacitly admitted there’s a problem by announcing that extra “deep clean teams” are going to be sent to certain parts of the city. Why would such a scheme be needed if the regular cleaning was good enough?
The obvious solution here would be to take on more staff but there's another systemic problem in the city that also needs to be addressed. If you’ve been in a park recently, you’ll know it. Not enough bins. If you’ve walked down a street, you’ll know it. Not enough bins. In fact, if you’ve been in Glasgow for more than a few minutes, you’ll know it. Not enough bins.

While the leader of Glasgow council (Cllr Susan Aitken) thinks the city just requires a 'wee spruce up' others believe the problems are much more serious and deep rooted.
More Bins, Bigger Bins - More Frequently Emptied Bins (June 30, 2022)
Any fool could tell you that overflowing rubbish bins just encourage the dumping of household rubbish.
I mean, what else are people expected to do?
When is Glasgow City Council going to wake up to the fact that some areas require more bins, bigger bins and/or more frequently emptied bins?

To my mind the answer is staring Glasgow City Council in the face, but as yet they don't seem willing to listen.
