Flying Start


The campaign to knock some much needed sense into North Lanarkshire Council - has got off to a flying start.

An enterprising reader has already been in touch to say that she has written to the Leader of the Council - Councillor Jim McCabe.

Here's a little note the reader was kind enough to send me - the other day.

I have written to Jim McCabe and hope many others will also write and put pressure on NLC.

Thank you so much for you help and support in this.

You listened when no-one else wanted to know and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hopefully NLC will see sense soon.

I hope other readers of the blog site take up the challenge as well - because many people did just that in Edinburgh - and to great effect.

In my experience elections have a wonderful habit of getting politicians' attention - all of a sudden they seem to sit up and start listening to people.

So the more folk who tell North Lanarkshire Council to get its finger out - over outstanding equal pay settlements - the better things will be for all concerned.

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
