Covid-19, Drinking Responsibly and Alcohol Bans

I enjoyed my favourite pizza in 'Mediterraneo' during the week - a Pizza Puttanesca with anchovies, black olives and capers.

I would normally enjoy a glass of red wine with my pizza, but the ScotGov restrictions mean that restaurants and bars are banned from serving alcohol with food.

As everyone knows, Scotland has a poor relationship with alcohol and if you ask me, this is an opportune time for a serious, grown-up debate about drinking responsibly, drunkenness and binge drinking.

Yet instead of encouraging an intelligent discussion Scottish Ministers choose to treat the public like irresponsible teenagers by banning alcohol altogether and tarring everyone with the same brush.

Mediterraneo - Pizza and Gelato (03/05/20)

So last night's 'Big Night Out' at home featured some delicious pizza and gelato from Mediterraneo - one of our favourite Italian restaurants in Glasgow.

Mine was a Pizza Puttanesca with anchovies, black olive and capers while Marian had a Pizza Margherita.

My super tasty ice cream was 'fragola' or strawberry flavoured while Marian had her usual 'vaniglia' or vanilla.

In a nice touch, the restaurant gave us waffle cones to take away so we could make our own at home.

Here's a link to Mediterraneo which is on 159 Ingram Street, Glasgow, G1 1DW - 0141 552 0460 http://www.medglasgow.com

Mediterraneo - Open for Business (25/04/20)

Another of our favourite Glasgow restaurants is opening up for a 'take away' service.

Mediterraneo on Ingram Street and serves great Italian food including fresh pasta, pizzas and all the traditional favourites some of which have a very interesting Scottish slant.

Day two of our fabulous Take away service ❤️is so good to come back to work ❤️🙏🏻 place your order by telephone 📞 and pick up or if you are with in 3 miles you can taste our restaurant food by placing your orders through Just Eat or Uber Eat and will be delivered to your door ❤️🌈

So it will be great to see Nuncio and his team again - they help put the sparkle into Glasgow city centre.
