Serial Sex Offenders
Brian Dick (41) - branded a sexual predator by the trial judge - attacked and raped the 10 year-old girl while she was bound and gagged at his home Falkirk.
With good behaviour he could be out of prison in less than five years - despite his conviction for previous indecency offences against a further three under-age girls - going back to 1991.
During the trial the young girl told how she was still at primary school - when she was first molested by Dick - who refuses to admit or acknowledge the crime.
After police raided Dick's home they found a "conquest list" - naming a string of girls and young women - some with numbers after their names indicating they were only 14 or 15.
Police also found images of child sex abuse at Dick's home in August 2009 - a separate charge which resulted in a further conviction.
Yet despite this appalling catalogue of offences - he gets put away for only nine years - and is likely to be out on the streets again in a lot less time.
Something is far wrong with out judicial system - because if Brian Dick had been locked up for a long time over his previous offences - chances are he wouldn't have gone on to harm the lives of other young children.
