Animal Cruelty

Amidst all the cruel events that take place in the world - it's heartening to see some folks retain their sense of humour.

To my mind it's a sign of humanity - that people can do crazy, funny and exuberant things - just for the sheer hell of it - and simply for the sake of having a good laugh.

So with that spirit in mind here's the most watched You Tube video of 2011 - in the UK - so they say.

The little sketch is about a dog owner who is being unspeakably 'cruel' to his own best friend - but it's all done in jest and in the best possible taste.

For my money it's a wonderful example of someone with a great imagination having fun - doing something joyful and a bit mad.

Which would be banned in countries - of course - where tyranny and repression are king.

Now just imagine if you'd made such a video in Colonel Gaddafi's nasty world - or where the Mad Mullahs are in charge?

No doubt you could expect to hear a knock on your door - anytime soon.
