Union Priorities

When I checked the GMB Scotland web site the other day there was no news on the situation in North Lanarkshire where hundreds of union members are still locked in battle over their equal pay claims.

But there was this out of date reminder encouraging GMB members to register for the purpose of voting in the Labour Party's leadership election.

More evidence if you ask, that the trade unions have got their priorities all wrong by having plenty to say about the affairs of the Labour Party, yet nothing at all to say about the scandalous situation in North Lanarkshire.

Remember to register for Labour leadership election

This is just a quick last minute reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday the 12th of August, is the final day for registration as a GMB affiliated supporter to take part in the Labour leadership ballot. So if you haven't had time up until now, but want to take part, can I ask you to register as soon as possible and no later than 3 PM tomorrow?

Don't forget under the new rules GMB members can have as much say as politicians, (and ex-politicians and spin doctors!), in deciding who leads the Labour Party.

Let's make sure the voice of working people is heard loud and clear.

If you need more information please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Please just pick up a form from me or go to the link below. If you have any forms from workplaces they will also need to be registered by the deadline www.unionstogether.org.uk/our_voice.
