Football Crazy
The Scotsman reported the other day that four Scottish football 'fans' are to stand trial for allegedly invading the pitch during a Forfar v Airdrie football match and attacking the Forfar goalkeeper, Rab Douglas, who has also played for Scotland and Celtic during his distinguished career.

The four men involved in the alleged incident all sound like 'head cases' to me, but they have denied the charges which include, variously:
- 'directing foul and abusive language at Douglas'
- 'repeatedly punching the goalkeeper'
- 'spitting on the goalkeeper'
- 'attacking a steward'
Ian Bear, Douglas Allsop, Kenneth Murray and Ryan Lawrence have all been ordered to attend a trial date in November which will be worth looking out for I suspect because what possible 'reason' can they have for being on the field of play in the first place.
And also because in a case not dissimilar to this a few years ago a jury in Edinburgh jury decided that a football thug did not assault Celtic manager Neil Lennon even though the event had been recorded 'live' on TV and watched by millions of viewers.
Which just goes to show what an ass the law can be sometimes.
