Playboy Hunted Down
Because this highly educated, playboy bully was never going to make a famous last stand - by going down in a blaze of bullets.
Despite all the threats and blood curdling rhetoric - in front of the world's media - the tyrant's son has gone the way of all cowards and bullies.
Who are tough only when the odds are stacked in their favour - surrounded by goons and paid henchmen.
Now the boot is on the other foot - as Colonel Gaddafi's favourite son prepares to meet his fate.
Which should be a trial in Libya - not the International Criminal Court in the Hague - since this will just turn into a three ring legal circus.
For years the vast wealth of oil-rich Libya has been siphoned off by the Gaddafi family and their supporters - into grand palaces worthy of another unhinged African despot - Robert Mugabe.
But now a day of reckoning is at hand - and I really hope the Libyan authorities ensure that justice is seen to be done - in their own country.
Who knows?
Maybe all the wealthy lawyers - who would otherwise be licking their lips at the prospect of a lengthy trial lasting a year or two at the Hague - might actually offer their time for free.
Now that would be a grand gesture.
And I've no doubt that a trial in Libya will cut to the chase - there's no chance of a such a trial in Libya dragging on for months and years.
