Arm's Length Glasgow
A number of readers have been in touch recently about the goings on in Cordia - the arm's length company set up by Glasgow City Council in 2008 - which has attracted much controversy and criticism.
According to these readers Cordia is introducing - or trying to introduce - sweeping changes to people's sick pay arrangements - which are far inferior to the entitlement that these employees enjoyed with Glasgow City Council.
So exactly what is going on - does anyone know for sure - does anyone have a copy of document or letter from Cordia explaining and justifying - any new arrangements?
If so, I'd be interested in having a look - because no employer can make unilateral changes to an employee's contract of employment.
Changes have to be discussed and agreed.
Cordia's employs well over 10,000 workers in Glasgow - and amongst their number are the very lowest paid groups - providing council care and education services.
