Boris Johnson appears to have had a real fright over his battle with acute respiratory failure judging by his words and heartfelt tribute to the staff at St Thomas' Hospital in London.
The same sort of thing has been happening in other hospitals up and down the country which wouldn't be possible, of course, without the army of unsung workers and volunteers who have been keeping things going while the NHS gets on with the job of saving people's lives.
