Who Do You Trust?

I came across this poster a while ago when the so-called 'Plebgate' row erupted - and which led to the forced resignation of the Government's chief whip, Andrew Mitchell.

I pretty sure it's a Labour Party poster designed to cause maximum mischief - by inviting people to answer a rhetorical question about whom they trust - The Police or a Tory MP.

Not so much a debate as a 'lynch mob', I would say - but that's politics for you

But given the events that have since come to light since - courtesy of Channel 4's Dispatches programme - which led directly to the arrest of serving officers of the Metropolitan Police over the Plebgate affair - the question of trust in the police looks much less  straightforward.

All the more so after further revelations from the Dispatches Team last night - which allege that an undercover officer was 'spying' on the Lawrence family in the aftermath of the terrible racist murder of their son, Stephen.

Seesm to me that the police have a lot of explaining to do.
