Doctor Who

I really admired this Adams cartoon in The Telegraph.

As the search is underway for the new Doctor Who to replace Matt Smith - what an ingenious idea to portray the outgoing Time Lord as Gordon Brown with the Tardis looking as if it has just crash landed in the background - a bit like the UK economy.

The great punchline is that the good Doctor comes back to life as none other than Ed Balls - one of Gordon's old and most loyal acolytes, of course.

Now that's clever - not just funny, but funny with a political message, and you don't get much better than that.
