"That Place" - How Embarrassing!

Imagine referring contemptuously to the place you were born as "that place".

I know lots of English people - I have English family and friends - I've lived and worked in England and it's full of good, decent, hard-working people - just like Scotland.

 

Scottish Nepotism Party! (March 31, 2022)

The news that Stewart Hosie's new wife is standing as a SNP candidate in May's council's elections triggered the following thought about Scottish politics and nepotism.

The health minister, Humza Yousaf's wife (Nadia El-Nakla) is also standing for election and currently works for the social justice minister and former health minister, Shona Robison.

Shona, of course, was previously married to Stewart Hosie, the SNP MP whose new wife (Serena Cowdy) is standing for election as an SNP councillor in Angus Council.

Which makes me wonder - does the SNP operate some kind of family franchise?

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
