Glasgow and Glass Recycling
Glaswegians are generally very good at recycling glass bottles which are not a big problem in terms of the litter casually dumped on the city's streets.
Contrary to what Lorna Slater and her SNP chums have to say, of course.
The real problem is there are too few glass recycling bins which are not emptied often enough - combined with a lack of ambition when it comes to cleaning up Glasgow and tackling the litter louts and rubbish dumpers.
Here's an example of Glasgow glass recycling bins (on Maryhill Road) which are full to the gunnels, yet local people have stacked their empty bottles neatly to one side awaiting collection!
Glasgow's Litter Problem - Not A Bottle In Sight! (June 13, 2023)
Despite what the Greens and the SNP say Glasgow does not have a big problem with discarded glass bottles.
Public Enemy No 1 is dumped household rubbish and throwaway food wrappers or containers.
What the city needs is an imaginative, well-resourced, all-party 'Clean Up Glasgow' campaign - not 'a wee spruce-up'!
