Covid Hokey Cokey

Calamity Jen makes a good point about us all doing the Covid Hokey Cokey this Christmas - Wales has already jumped the gun by announcing tighter restrictions after Boxing Day.

No doubt Nicola Sturgeon's nose will be out of joint at being beaten to the punch, so we can expect Scotland to follow suit, or go even a little further as the politicians try to outdo each other.

What gets right up my nose is the inconsistency and the fact that when it suits their purpose, eg at COP26, Covid  restrictions on travel and so on get torn up - and the rules are changed to suit the politicians.

Breathtaking Hypocrisy (November 13, 2021)

Fair comment from Gethin Chamberlain about the behaviour of Nicola Sturgeon and other politicians at COP26.

Hands - Face - Space and COP26 (November 12, 2021)

Huggy Bear hits a home run here with his timely question about mask wearing at COP26 which seems to have been entirely optional for both home grown and visiting VIPs.

Covid, Masks and COP26 (November 09, 2021)

Scotland's Covid cases remain stubbornly high, but instead of an informed debate about what's going on and why - all we get is a diet of pap and nonsense, along with lots of photos of a generally mask-free Nicola Sturgeon swanning about at COP26.

Scotland's mask wearing rules have been in place for months yet this didn't stop cases getting out of control and going though the roof in August and into September.

So if masks work - why didn't they stop the surge in August and September and why are cases in Scotland creeping back up again now?
