North Lanarkshire Update
Here are some more Readers' comments which focus on North Lanarkshire Council's very late-running job evaluation (JE) review.
I presume that readers are making their views known to the local trade unions in NLC because this whole business appears to be a collaborative effort between Unison, GMB, Unite and senior Council management.
So if things go wrong, there is nowhere to hide - the unions can't turn round and say 'a big boy did it and ran away'.
Now, in my view, the trade unions in North Lanarkshire should be working closely with A4ES, as they did during last year's settlement negotiations, because we really do know what we're talking about when it comes to equal pay and job evaluation.
But at the moment the unions are trying to keep A4ES at arm's length - information about the JE process in NLC is not being shared or discussed - and, if you ask me, that's not the way to achieve the best outcome for the workforce.
All the scores are a joke..even a 2 for concentration..c,mon if we don't concentrate we could drop someone or give them the wrong meds and even the low score for knowledge,. Wtf!!!!
I'm sorry is it just me? Score of 1 for communication skills in my opinion good communications is 90% of the job x
As an early years worker I would b interested what they have down for our job evaluation.
I am getting really fed up with NLC due to the lack of communication and correspondence which is given to employees regarding the current job re-evaluation.
I read your blog daily and think you are doing a fantastic job, especially at keeping us mere female workers in the loop. Again though I am unsure which jobs are being evaluated, which ones have been accepted and if we are going to be recognised as skilled workers.
So keep the comments coming because they share important information, help boost people's morale and encourage others to get involved in the fight for equal pay.
And the more people who get involved the sooner this will all be over.
