Confusion Reigns
The Politics Home web site carried an unusual report on yesterday's goings on in the Westminster Parliament which saw Alex Salmond being 'upbraided' by Speaker Bercow for playing with another MP's hair.

Alex Salmond plays with another MP's hair, confuses John Bercow
Wild scenes in the Commons as Alex Salmond’s fervent grooming of one of his colleagues left the Speaker – and everybody else – rather confused.
John Bercow was hearing points of order after PMQs when he noticed Alex Salmond fidgeting in his seat.
What followed was troubling and surprising in equal measure. Here, in full, are Bercow’s quotes:
“The Right Honourable Gentleman, the Member for Gordon is stirring in his seat.
“No, he doesn’t have a point of order?
“Well, it’s one thing to play with one’s own hair; it’s another thing to play with someone else’s. We’ll leave it there for now. I wondered if there was a point of order brewing from the Right Honourable Gentleman but not on this occasion. Another time.
“I’m sure he was being helpful. Order!”
Even the usually unflappable Angela Eagle was clearly shaken when she stood to open the following debate on the Queen’s Speech.
"I’m just reeling from the prospect of public hair-playing and whether we should in this House have a rule against it."
Let us never speak of this again.
