South Lanarkshire

Here's a brief update on the ongoing talks with South Lanarkshire Council which has been issued by Fox and Partners Solicitors - on behalf of all clients of Action 4 Equality Scotland.

"Further to our last update in October we have had a series of constructive meetings with the Council.  We require more time into the New Year before we can provide a further update and have arranged to meet with the Council again in January. As soon as we can make a public statement we will update the website. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation.
"If we do not reach agreement on a scheme of settlement then we will proceed with the appeal  listed for 18th – 20th February 2014 in the EAT in Edinburgh.
"You will appreciate that as discussions progress we do not wish to make public comments on the website. However, as we now represent over 3,000 claimants with equal pay cases against South Lanarkshire Council, we have taken the decision to focus all of our resources upon our existing cases and to achieving settlement, if possible. This means that we will no longer be lodging any new claims against South Lanarkshire Council.
"To ensure that we can focus the work of our legal team please do not call or e-mail, instead we ask that you to visit www.foxandpartners.co.uk for any further information. We assure you that we will update the website early in 2014."

I explained in a previous post that there would not be a running commentary on these talks with the Council, but any further developments in the New Year will be reported on the blog site, as normal.
