Showaddywaddy
In light of recent events I thought it might be good to have a new theme tune for North Lanarkshire Council - a topical tune to inspire the workforce - as people begin another day of honest toil.
What jumped into myhead was 'Three Steps to Heaven' - so here are the words to the song - which are banal, silly and unbelievable - I have to say.
But then again the same thing might be said about other decision-making processes within the council - such as the one to pay big bonuses to only the most senior staff.
I've included a You Tube link to the song as well - the original version was by Eddie Cochran although this one is from the 1970s 'glam rock' group - Showaddywaddy.
Enjoy.

Three Steps to Heaven
Now there are three steps to heaven
Just listen and you will plainly see.
And as I travel on and things do go wrong
Just call it steps one
two and three
Step one
to find a girl to love
Step two
she falls in love with you
Step three
you kiss and hold her tightly.
Yeh ! That shure seems like heaven to me.
The formula for heaven's very simple
Just follow the rules and you will see.
And as I travel on and things do go wrong
Just call it steps one
two and three.
Step one
to find a girl to love
. . .
Just call it steps one
two and three.
