Sam Cam
Like most people I've watched some of the TV coverage of David Cameron's visit to America - where the red carpet has been well and truly rolled out by President Barack Obama.
Not since the days of Tony Blair and George Bush - or perhaps going back to the days of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan - has a British Prime Minister been so well received and so warmly welcomed.
Yet this is a Conservative Prime Minister and a Democratic President - who might otherwise be regarded as strange bedfellows - just like Tony Blair and George Bush.
But for all that the political chemistry seems to work and the British PM was even treated to a flight on Air Force One to Ohio - for a dog and a coke with President Obama while watching a high school basketball game.
Yet you know the most surprising thing to emerge from the visit so far - this is Samatha's Cameron's first official visit abroad since her husband became Prime Minister.
Which I find quite refeshing I have to say.
Especially after all the years when Cherie Blair and Sarah Brown seemed to be constantly toodling around after their husbands - propelling themselves forward in the First Lady tradition of American politics.
Now that's something we can do without in the UK - or at least I can anyway.
Maybe it would be good fun for while if the spouses of Scotland's political leaders - were to step out into the limelight.
We would get to know more about First Minister and SNP leader Alex Salmond's wife - whom we are told is a very private person.
We might also have the first same sex couple if Ruth Davidson's partner came into the political spotlight - to join the Scottish Conservative leader.
Now that might really be worth it - can you imagine all the spluttering amongst the churches and other opponents of same sex marriage - if Scotland's Tory leader appeared in public with her lesbian partner.
I would definitely welcome that as big step forward for Scotland's civil society.
The only downside is that the Scottish Labour leader - Johann Lamont - would have to wheel out her better half - Councillor Archie Graham.
Not that I've anything against Archie mind you - he's a perfectly nice chap.
It's just that I've had enough of Glasgow councillors to last me a lifetime.
