Scotland's Public Finances

The Scottish Fiscal Commission says that public spending pressures in Scotland are largely the result of decisions taken by the Scottish government.

The abolition of tuition fees, for example, represents a huge transfer of wealth from the less well off in Scotland to the better off.

A good policy?

Depends on your point of view, but unarguably a costly one in terms of public spending.
