'These Things Happen'
Sturgeon's 'these things happen' response to the ghastly undoing of Janey Godley is a cynical attempt to absolve herself and the SNP of any responsibility for turning a blind eye to Godley's out of control behaviour on social media.

Sturgeon As Cheerleader (September 10, 2021)

So Nicola Sturgeon's considered response to the ghastly Janey Godley affair is that 'these things happen'.
Well they do, of course, but they happen for a reason - and the reason here is that party leaders and first ministers act as cheerleaders for their ugly behaviour.
Turning a blind eye to their antics on social media, egging them on, and sometimes even rewarding them with a promotion to the rank of Scottish Minister for Older People and Equalities.
Scotland's Answer To French and Saunders? (September 09, 2021)
Janey Godley has been back-pedalling furiously over some of her ghastly tweets, but she's not the only high profile SNP member/Indy supporter whose behaviour on social media has been appalling.
For example, this demeaning exchange between Christina McKelvie and Janey is obviously pretty nauseating.
Yet instead of ringing alarm bells Janey's gone on to make adverts for the Scottish Government and Christina's become a Scottish Minister, for Older People and Equalities would you believe?
Scotland's answer to French and Saunders or Patsy and Edwina - they ain't!
