Ambulance Crisis, What Crisis?

Scottish Ministers keep denying there's a crisis in the ambulance service - yet they have taken the unprecedented step of calling in the British Army, the Fire Brigade and now Taxi Drivers for help.

The First Minister keeps saying there is no crisis in the Scottish Ambulance Service, but things are so bad they've had to call in the Fire Brigade!

Go figure.

Ambulance Crisis, What Crisis? (September 18, 2021)

Not everyone agrees with the First Minister that Covid is to blame for the crisis in the Scottish Ambulance service - less than half (30 to 40%) are down to Covid according to a top surgeon, Professor Michael Griffin.

So the Scottish newspapers seem to think the First Minister has got this badly wrong and that there is indeed a crisis in Scotland's ambulance service.

I'm sure if it was your mum or dad, daughter or son, grandma or granddad, you agree!

Ambulance Crisis, What Crisis? (September 16, 2021)

A fair comment on the terrible state of Scotland's  ambulance service - yet all the health minister has to say is that people should 'think twice' before dialling 999!

Humza Yousaf should really be making an emergency statement to the Scottish Parliament.

Is Humza Having A Laugh? (September 15, 2021)

Not content with telling people to stay away from A&E unless their situation is critical, Scotland's health minister is now urging people to think twice before calling for an ambulance.

Is Humza having a laugh?

Where Is Scotland's Health Minister? (August 24, 2021)

The latest scandal involving the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) involves a 98 woman from Edinburgh, Margaret Rothery, who had to wait 16 and a half hours for help to arrive after she fell and bashed her head.

Read the full story via the link below to the Edinburgh Evening News, but yet again there's no comment on a growing crisis from the health minister, Humza Yousaf.

Where Is Scotland's Health Minister? (August 22, 2021)

Yet another shocking report on the woeful state of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS).

What with attending/speaking at rallies about Afghanistan, campaigning/tweeting inappropriately on social media and all the travelling back and forth between Broughty Ferry and Glasgow Pollok - it's amazing Humza has any time to do his day job!

Scottish Ambulance Service - Truly Shocking (August 21, 2021)

Dreadful stories about the shocking state of the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) continue to appear in the press and confirm my own recent experience of the SAS.

What does the health minister, Humza Yousaf, have to say?

Scottish Ambulance Service - Cusp of a Crisis? (August 13, 2021)

The Daily Record and the Press and Journal are both on the case of Scottish Ministers over the scandalous state of the Scottish Ambulance Service - certainly chimes with my own experience!

Ambulance Crisis? (August 11, 2021)

The Press and Journal says that the Scottish Ambulance Service is on the cusp of a crisis - one which affects towns and cities as well as rural areas.

"This is not just a rural problem, but one affecting major cities across the country. Whatever the solution, the Scottish Government has long had the devolved power to find it and put it in place. Any further delay on Nicola Sturgeon’s part to act could prove catastrophic."

Certainly chimes with my experience in Glasgow - that's for sure!

What's Your Emergency, Caller? (August 11, 2021)

Two members of my extended family have had to call an ambulance in recent days after accidents involving suspected fractures - one broke her femur in two places which needs to be surgically pinned, the other needs an emergency hip replacement - both are currently being treated at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

What's more worrying is that the ambulance in the first case took 1 hour and twenty minutes to arrive - and in the second over fours hours!

What's going on health minister?
