Ambulance Crisis?

The Press and Journal says that the Scottish Ambulance Service is on the cusp of a crisis - one which affects towns and cities as well as rural areas.

"This is not just a rural problem, but one affecting major cities across the country. Whatever the solution, the Scottish Government has long had the devolved power to find it and put it in place. Any further delay on Nicola Sturgeon’s part to act could prove catastrophic."

Certainly chimes with my experience in Glasgow - that's for sure!

What's Your Emergency, Caller? (August 11, 2021)

Two members of my extended family have had to call an ambulance in recent days after accidents involving suspected fractures - one broke her femur in two places which needs to be surgically pinned, the other needs an emergency hip replacement - both are currently being treated at Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

What's more worrying is that the ambulance in the first case took 1 hour and twenty minutes to arrive - and in the second over fours hours!

What's going on health minister?
