ScotGov Priorities - 'All About Nicola'

A draft bill to regulate short-term Airbnb-style rentals has been pulled by the Scottish Government and will only now be considered by MSPs after the next round of Holyrood elections scheduled for May.

I suppose this has to be part of the madcap strategy to make the election 'all about Nicola' rather than the everyday issues which have nothing to do with Covid or another independence referendum.

As a resident in Glasgow city centre I've taken a particular interest in this issue (anti-social behaviour etc) and I have followed the legislation through its various, slow moving stages in the Holyrood parliament.

So for the bill be withdrawn at such a late stage is a disgrace, if you ask me and another sign that the Scottish Government has got its day-to-day priorities all wrong.

Indyref2 - Not A Priority for Scots (16/02/21)

I responded to Bill Kidd, one of Glasgow's 8 constituency MSPs, who tweeted about the next round of elections to the Scottish Parliament scheduled for 6 May 2021.

I took issue with Bill's suggestion that another referendum on independence was a big issue for many Glaswegians.

Lo and behold later in the day an opinion poll came out and placed Indyref2 way down the list which seems about right if you ask me.
