**STOP PRESS**

I don't always have positive things to say about North Lanarkshire Council (NLC), but the good news is that the Council has finally responded with the information that Action 4 Equality Scotland requires to send out individual letters to all NLC equal pay claimants.

Now as I explained the other day, A4ES will take some time to turn this around (the best estimate is 5 working days) because there over 3,000 clients involved, but this means that by the middle of next week we should be 'good to go'.

So credit where credit's due and, albeit later than expected, some folks at NLC deserve a small pat on the back.

Who knows, maybe the chief executive (Gavin Whitefield) put his shoulder to the wheel after all.

In any event I will have more to say in the days ahead and will let people know via the blog site when the process of sending letters out actually gets underway.

In other words - watch this space.
