NLC Update (21/04/15)

Still no word from North Lanarkshire as to when exactly the Council will complete the process of checking and verifying the information which will allow individual letters to be sent out to equal pay claimants.

As regular readers know this was supposed to have been done by the early part of April and here we are approaching the end of the month and people are still no further forward.

One the pay information comes back to Action 4 Equality Scotland (A4ES) we require another five working days to turn everything around, but at least A4ES are able to be clear about timelines and the amount of work involved.

So it looks as if we might need to persuade the Council to put more efforts into this task.

If readers have any bright ideas or suggestions, I'm all ears but in the first instance I plan to write to all MSPs in the North Lanarkshire area as well as all the various candidates who are standing in the Westminster general election who is now only days away.

I am also thinking about making our presence felt at any events in North Lanarkshire which the Labour leader, Jim Murphy is attending, after all NLC is a big Labour-run council and I imagine Jim will be very unimpressed at these latest delays and problems over equal pay.

But let's see what he has to say.
