'I Don't Beliebe It'
News reports yesterday confirmed a thought that has been brewing in my head for some time - Justin Bieber is an idiot.
The reason being that the teenage pop sensation was in Amsterdam recently - and paid a visit to the house of Anne Frank and the secret rooms where the young Jewish girl hid from the occupying German army for years - before being sent to the Belsen concentration camp where she died in 1945 as one of the younger victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
Whether Justin Bieber was aware of all this is unclear - but the young man displayed the callowness of his youth by writing the following statement in guestbook as he took leave of Anne Frank's house:
"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
Now the only good thing to say about this is that the Anne Frank museum did not overeact to his display of crass stupidity - a spokesperson said:
“He’s 19, it’s a strange life he’s living, it wasn’t very sensible but he didn’t mean bad.”
Which is good because young people do foolish things sometimes and their life experience - or lack of it - should always be taken into account before anyone rushes to judgement.
But not everyone was so understanding and another visitor left a comment in the guestbook to say:
“This makes me want to vomit. What an idiot to make it about him and not Anne.”
Best thing for everyone would be for JB's handlers to understand the offence their young protege has caused - and issue an apology for behaving like such an ass-hole.
'I Don't Beliebe It' (6 March 2013)
I never thought I'd live to see the day where I would spend some of the relatively few yet valuable minutes I have here on this earth - writing about Justin Bieber.
But a short time ago I heard a crazy woman on Sky News complaining that this teenybopper idol had turned up late for a performance at the O2 arena in London - and much to the terrible disappointment of the woman's 4-year old daughter.
Yes, you heard me correctly - a 4-year old was taken to the concert by her mum - who otherwise looked and sounded like a relatively normal human being.
Now for whatever reason the teen sensation showed up on stage late - so the 4-year old managed to hear only the first song of JB's set - before being taken off home to bed, her young life unfulfilled apparently.
Now excuse me for sounding a bit like Victor Meldrew - but I really don't understand how Sky News can give airtime to such drivel and nonsense - with everything that's going on in the world.
I may have to go out for a long walk or lie down in a dark room.
