South Lanarkshire Update
Here's an update from Fox Cross Solicitors - on the recent employment tribunal hearings involving South Lanarkshire Council.
Case Update - South Lanarkshire
The ongoing PHR in relation to the 555 Job Evaluation Scheme in South Lanarkshire was heard over five more days during September.
There are further dates listed in January (17th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 25th,26th,27th, 28th and 31st.) and again from March (7th , 8th , 11th, 14th – 18th, 21st 22nd) in the Glasgow Employment Tribunal.
We have already had 18 days in the tribunal and these further dates will bring the total hearing to 37 days at the tribunal.
While the evidence on the Job Evaluation scheme is very technical we are making significant progress and we would encourage all claimants to try to attend one of these hearing dates, even for a brief time, to understand the legal arguments presented on your behalf by the new barrister, Ms Sandhya Drew from Tooks Chambers in London.
The tribunal hearing starts at 10 am until 1pm then sits in the afternoon from 2pm - 4pm.
You do not need to attend for the whole day, even if you can come for an hour or two you can hear the Council’s arguments and why they continue to deny that there is an equal pay problem in South Lanarkshire.
A few women managed along last week and it really makes a difference to the tribunal if claimants can attend. Any further dates or postponements will be posted nearer the time next year so please double check.
